From Above!

An Online Ministry for the Men of CLF

When we venture into the world to earn a living, we all face our own unique set of challenges. As you can see, my office has a great view! But some days are more challenging than others. Long days away from home, weekly hotel stays, continuous jetlag and stress are some of the challenges we face in the travel industry. As men, sometimes our life is not aligning with our testimony...what people see on the outside is far from the feelings and emotions we are experiencing on the inside...

Where are you going?

Recently the crew of a small airliner made a ground navigational error as they taxied to their departure runway at an airport in Kentucky, and the results where disastrous. During airport construction, the taxiways where rerouted over active runways in close proximity to each other, and they took off on the wrong runway. For just a few critical moments, this crew of professional pilots did not know where they were going. All but one person died as a result of this small navigational error.

How can we avoid tragedies like this? We all know perfection is not achievable, but with God's help, and the support of one another, we can maintain the highest level of awareness of pending disasters. To be misdirected in our daily routines can be humorous and harmless... but to be on the wrong pathway to God's eternal agenda can never be a positive direction for any of us.

Do you know where you are going? Are your motives and purposes in line with His will? Are you making every effort to stay on the right path?

Even the greatest of men and women get off the path. The Bible says Elijah was a man whose prayers were of great influence, yet God, at one point in his life and ministry, asked him why he was on the run...why he was hiding from Jezabel? His only response was that he had lost his way because of fear and exhaustion. He was responding to extreme pressure. He went aside to hide and heal, and amazingly...God met Elijah were he went to hide. When we go to hide from God, He has already prepared a way for us to find our way back to healthy fellowship with Himself. He, like all parents, longs for healthy dialogue with His kids!

But there is a pathway....

There was a Christian woman who had made great progress in the Lord and she was asked what was the secret to her quick advancement. She quickly replied...."Mind the checks!".
The reason many of us do not know and better understand Him, is we do not give heed to His gentle checks, His delicate restraints and constraints. His is a still, small voice. A still voice can hardly be heard. It must be felt. A steady, gentle pressure upon the heart and mind...a small voice, quietly, almost timidly spoken in your heart, but if heeded, growing clearer and more and recognizable. His voice is whispered to the hearing ear of love and attentiveness...and the ear of love always seeks the faintest whispers from the one it wants to hear.

If we will mind the checks and hear the voice of the Good Shepard, He will lead and guide us back onto the right path.

Keep on ...
